spotlightThis was the first report I did for Tim Larsons's Upper Midwest Wrestling newsletter. Tim gave me a forum write just about anything I liked, even when it got him in trouble once in a while. This show was part of Kenny Jay's histiocytosis charity. Barb made a disparaging comment about Mad Dog selling pictures at intermission and earned a dirty look from Jerry Lynn. My objective was simple, tell who won and write one sentence or so about each match. I had my head down taking notes during the Renslow/Gutts match, heard a big noise, and looked up to see Renslow getting the pin. I hate it when that happens.

Show began with Al DeRusha talking about the event.  Blood (once again Hellraiser Blood) came out, and promo'd his match with Kenny Jay.  DeRusha then introduced Mad Dog Vachon.

First match was J. B. Trask vs. Horace the Psychopath.  I was expecting this to be the main event. Horace worked as the Heel, Trask as the Face. Neither man bled. Trask won with a kick to the head.

Second match was Blood (w/ Gutts) vs. Kenny "The Sodbuster" Jay.  Mad Dog sat at Jay's corner. Jay won with a "Vicious Kneelift". Vachon attacked Blood with his cane. Blood worked hard to put Jay over.

Third match was Dan Jesser (w/The High Rollers) vs. J.R. The Body Double.  J.R. won with a neckbreaker. The High Roller's comedy routine made this match tolerable.

At intermission Vachon sold autographs for three dollars.

Fourth match was Scotty Zappa vs. Prime Time. This was the best match on the card. Zappa worked as a Heel and got good heat. Prime Time pinned him with a small package.

Final match was Hellraiser Gutts (w/Blood) vs. Big Truckin' Daddy (Rick Renslow). Renslow came out with a ridiculously large cigar which got smashed all over the ring. Renslow won in a manner that I can't recall. Gutts showed good promo work, but little of his ring talent. All in all a good show. Jerry Lynn was in attendance.
